Working with Megan Tang

FAQ for collaborators

You don't need to approach working with me any differently because I have Down syndrome. Treat me with the same respect and professionalism you would give any other performer. Clear communication, a little planning and an open mind help us do our best work together.

What is it like to work with you?

Pretty much like working with anyone else! I enjoy dancing, performing and being in front of the camera. My team helps me prepare for each engagement, and I do my best to deliver what is expected. Every project is different, so we will discuss what is needed and make sure we are ready for the day.

Do you need any special arrangements?

Not usually. I can take part in most activities and working environments, like other performers. For longer sessions, regular breaks help me rest and be ready for the next part of the programme.

How are you with loud sounds?

I am comfortable with music, crowds and the sounds of performances and events. A little notice before very loud or sudden sound effects helps.

Can you follow instructions and work with a team?

Yes. I work with choreographers, photographers, production teams and other performers. Clear instructions help everyone, and when there are several things to remember, going through them one step at a time helps.

What if the schedule changes?

Live events and productions don't always go to plan. If something changes, it helps when someone explains what has changed and what to expect next, so I can adjust and stay focused.

Can you work independently?

Yes. I carry out my role in professional engagements. Depending on the project, my team may help with coordination, preparation and logistics. We can discuss the requirements beforehand so everything is clear for everyone.

Can you perform with a group of dancers?

Yes. As well as performing on my own or alongside other artists, I can bring together a team of dancers to perform with me. A group needs more time to plan and rehearse, so it works best when there is enough notice. Tell my team what you have in mind, and we can discuss what is possible.

Who comes with you to a shoot or event?

Usually a member of my team comes along. They help with costume changes and logistics, so I can focus on my performance.

Are engagements paid?

Mostly, yes. Performing, campaigns and hosting are how I make my living. After school, this became my path instead of a typical job, so most of my work is on an agreed fee, like any professional performer. On some occasions, unpaid work can be discussed, depending on the circumstances. Tell my team about the date, the place and what you have in mind, and we will share our rates.

These answers are general information about working with Megan Tang. The details of each engagement, including fees and arrangements, are agreed in writing with Megan's team. Last updated: October 2026.
