Finding Our Way
Dance with Megan Tang began with a simple question: what comes after school?

In my words
When I finished school, the next step was supposed to be a job. I tried. But a typical workplace wasn't built for the way I work, and holding a job there turned out to be harder than anyone hoped.
So I asked a different question: what am I already good at, and what do I love? The answer had been there all along. Dance.

A note from Megan and Team
There are good pathways for many young people leaving special education. For Megan, a typical workplace wasn't the right fit, so we set out to build one around what she does best. That has never been about effort.
It is a long and demanding road. What Megan brings is her own: years of discipline, real joy on stage, and the courage to stand in front of a crowd and own the moment.

You're not alone in this
Singapore has recognised that leaving school is one of the hardest moments for persons with disabilities and their families, and support is growing: one-stop employment help through SG Enable, new skills programmes, and planning support for families.
Megan has been fortunate to work with SG Enable on several projects over the years. Dance with Megan Tang is one more path alongside these efforts, built around her strengths. If your family is facing the same transition, these are good places to start:

This isn't a story about what Megan can't do. It's about what happens when you stop forcing a fit and start building around strengths.
